Maria Yulin

The Israeli pianist Maria Yulin is regularly performing as a soloist and a chamber musician throughout Europe, Russia and Israel. She appeared on the Israeli Educational TV, the Bulgarian TV and her recordings are broadcasted on the Portuguese National classical radio and the Israeli classical music radio channel „Kol Hamuzika“.

Born in St. Petersburg, where she started her musical education, she then immigrated to Jerusalem with her family, where she studied with Luiza Yoffe at "HaSadna” conservatory. Graduating in 2009, she then proceeded with academic studies at the HMTM Hanover (Germany) under the guidance of Professor Gerrit Zitterbart. Today she resides in Berlin and studies at the University of the Arts with Professor Klaus Hellwig.

Maria is a prize winner of many international piano and chamber music competitions, such as the "Filippo Trevisan" International Piano Competition (2014), "Val Tidone" International Piano Competition (2014); a second prize winner of the “Campillos International Piano Competition” (Spain, 2010) , the “Neue Sterne Klavierwettbewerb” (Germany 2012) and the Israeli National Piano Competition (Ashdod, Israel 2006); a third prize and a special modern music prize winner at the CIPCE International Piano Competition (Spain 2011), and a special Mozart Prize winner at the “Pnina Salzman” Piano competition (Israel 2006). She was awarded the “Pnina Salzman” memorial prize as an outstanding participant (2013) and the certificates for outstanding performance of the Tel-Hai Piano Festival (Israel 2008, 2010).

She gains musical impulses from various master classes, amongst others with Murray Perahia, Nikolai Petrov, Oksana Yablonskaya, Norma Fisher, Jose Ribera and Tamas Ungar.

Maria was awarded scholarships from the America Israel Cultural Foundation (2004-2009), the “Zfunot Tarbut” Foundation, LMN Foundation in Hannover and in Berlin, Paul Hindemith Society and the Clavarte Foundation.
