Jobst Schneiderat

After studying piano, coaching and song accompaniment at the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music Dresden, Jobst Schneiderat started working at the Landestheater Halle, before taking a position as soloist répétiteur at the Semperoper Dresden in 1986. From 2004 to 2012, he was dean of studies of the Semperoper’s Junges Ensemble. Apart from that, he worked as a chamber musician – as harpsichordist and organist – with members of the Sächsische Staatskapelle, the Dresdner Kapellsolisten and the Philharmonische Kammerorchester.

Schneiderat performed several concert tours across Europe, the USA and Japan. In October 2013, he participated in the transmission of Salzburg’s Parsifal production to Beijing. Since his festival debut at the Salzburg Festival in 2002, he performed at numerous festivals and was Artistic Assistant at the Bayreuth Festival. He is also involved in master classes of the Junge Musiker Stiftung and contributed to Salzburg’s Sommerakademie in 2014.

Schneiderat gives song recitals with renowned singers such as Camilla Nylund, Ricarda Merbeth, Klaus Florian Vogt, Christa Mayer, Markus Marquart and Georg Zeppenfeld and has become a much demanded song accompanist, performing at the Heidelberger Frühling and the Schleswig Holstein Festival, amongst others.
